Rector’s Announcement No 8/2022 – trasfer of Polish and Ukrainian citizens

dated 12.04.2022
of the Rector
of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice,
for persons defined in Article 45 of the Act of March 12, 2022
on assistance for citizens of Ukraine in connection with armed conflict on the territory of that country
A person who on February 24, 2022 was a student of a higher education institution operating in the territory of Ukraine, whose stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland is recognized as legal on the basis of Article 2 item 1 of the Act of March 12, 2022 on assistance for citizens of Ukraine in connection with armed conflict on the territory of that country, if they are interested in continuing their studies at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice are asked to submit an application for transfer (template attached) together with a set of documents according to the list below. In the application please enter the correspondence address in Poland appropriate for deliveries.
List of documents:
1) a photocopy of the student’s book or periodic performance form, certified to be a true copy of the original by the home university,
2) ) certificate of the average exam grade for the completed years of study,
3) a certificate on the course of studies, including the grades obtained and the number of ECTS points, signed by the dean or a person authorized to sign it,
4) a photocopy of the secondary school graduation certificate and the secondary school leaving certificate, originals for inspection
5) written statement of no disciplinary record and that no disciplinary proceedings are pending against the student.
A student who does not have a set of documents confirming the periods of study, passed exams, credits or professional practice, issued by a university operating on the territory of Ukraine, submits a Declaration (template attached) that on February 24, 2022 he/she was studying at a given year in a given field and level of studies at a university operating on the territory of Ukraine.
On the basis of this declaration, the Student may have his/her periods of study recognized through the verification of the achieved learning outcomes. The rules of conducting the examination will be determined by a separate Regulation of the Rector of SUM.
An application for transfer together with the documents should be submitted to the Rector’s Office of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice /15 Poniatowskiego St, 40-055 Katowice/ in terms:
from 12 April 2022 to 29 April 2022, and from 30 June 2022 to 5 August 2022
Enrolling as a transfer student is equivalent to resignation from the studies conducted in a university operating in the territory of Ukraine.
Detailed Rules of admission of students by transfer based on special regulations in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine are regulated by the provisions of Appendix No. 1 to the Rules of Studies (Resolution No. 19/2022 of the Senate of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice of March 30, 2022).
