on the summer semester examination session in the academic year 2020/2021

Dear Students,
bearing in mind your safety, it has been decided that the verification of the achieved learning outcomes (examinations, final passes necessary to complete a given course and the final re-sit committee examinations, as well as the diploma examinations and defenses of diploma theses) shall be conducted remotely (off-site) with the use of the IT tools made available by the University.

I would like to remind you that the rules of conducting examinations/obtaining course passes with the use of the methods and techniques of distance education have been introduced – with reference to the oral form – under the Resolution of the Rector of SUM No. 72/2020 of 7 May 2020 (as amended), and with reference to the written form – under the Resolution of the Rector of SUM No. 77/2020 of 18 May 2020 (as amended). As far as the procedures of conducting diploma examinations and diploma thesis defenses are concerned, these have been introduced pursuant to the Resolution of the Rector of SUM No. 100/2020 of 23 June 2020 (as amended).

In exceptional cases, justified by the technical reasons on the part of a student (e.g. lack of necessary equipment, no internet connection available), the University shall make it possible for a student to participate in the examination/course pass at the SUM’s premises, with the observance of the sanitary regime in full. Since the University has to prepare for the above specified situation, students shall be obligated to notify the Dean’s Office about the necessity to organize the above not later than 2 days prior to the scheduled date of the examination/course pass.

At the same time, please be informed that in the new academic year i.e. starting from 1 October 2021 all forms of classes conducted at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, with reference to all fields and years of study, are to be held in accordance with the rules applicable before the pandemic outbreak, pursuant to the curricula specified for a given field of studies.
